Name: Elijah
Age: 11 years
Breed: Tibetan Spaniel mix
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $495
Cat friendly: No
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW & ACT only
Elijah’s foster carer has this to say about him.
“Elijah loves to be outside and can most often be found sunning himself in the garden. He gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home, a collection of small golden oldies. On leash Elijah or Eli as he’s affectionately known can be a bit reactive to new dogs but is progressing well with his training.
Being 10 years old, Eli is a bit set in his ways, he knows what he likes and what he doesn’t, he is learning through gentle leadership how to be a well behaved gentleman but he can sometimes be a little bit of a grump so is best in an adult only home.”
Elijah does have some arthritis but after a course of anti-inflammatory injections is feeling much better, his new family would need to be aware of when he might be feeling a little sore and get him a vet check-up. He might benefit from some daily help with something like Rosehip Vital.
Elijah needs access inside when his family are home and has a long coat that requires regular brushing to avoid matting. We know that the perfect retirement home is out there for Eli.
If you meet the criteria and feel like your home might be just right for Elijah, please email a detailed description of your home and lifestyle to info@deniseatpaws.com.au

Name: Buddy and Loki
Age: 6 years
Breed: Beagle Mix
Sex: Male
Size: Medium to Large
Adoption Fee: $800 (Bonded Pair)
Cat Friendly: No
Another dog in the home: No
Interstate adoption: NSW & ACT only
Buddy and Loki are two lovable Beagle mix brothers from different crossbreed litters, they are sweet as sugar and too cute to boot.
Now fully grown (both over 25kgs) they are well past the naughty stage and love to lounge around the house together, playing, having a wrestle, and keeping each other company. Both boys are toilet trained, use a doggy door, and are home during the day alone a few days a week.
Access inside as they please, this is what the boys are accustom to and like this arrangement. Ideally, their new fam will have a decent sized yard for them to also explore. Daily walks and exercise are an absolute must, they enjoy walks and going to the dog park, have loads of energy to burn but are happy to just chill for the remainder of the day.
They have toddlers in the home that they tolerate well, but being hounds, their noses rule their lives and are always looking out for a dropped "snack" or to "share" their food. Older children or teenagers would be more suitable.
These boys are delightfully sweet but are larger dogs (between 25-33kgs) and will require a family that can handle their size, experience with larger dogs is preferred but not essential.
Please read the criteria carefully and if you feel you tick all the boxes and would like to add two handsome lads to your family, please email a detailed description of your home and lifestyle to info@deniseatpaws.com.au

Do you like your ladies with curves and swerves! We’ll check out these voluptuous girls!
Scamp and Tinker came into our care after their beloved dad passed away, they have only known love and you can tell because these two have such sweet, kind natures and the sheer site of their low riding bodies makes you melt.
What type of home are these ladies looking for, keep reading :
Scamp and Tinker are after a retirement home, somewhere they can potter around and be doted upon.
Short strolls and a good diet are needed to get rid of some of those extra kilos... currently Scamp (black and tan) is the heavier of the two and requires some extra motivation to get that body moving.
These girls get along with other animals but are probably best suited to being the only dogs in the home as they sure do like to soak up all the love.
A family committed to their ongoing health, Tinker has arthritis in her hip and requires pain management, ie anti-inflammatory injections.
Access inside, this is what the girls are used to and enjoy. They are housetrained and just want to chill by the couch. A bucketload of pats and butt scratches because... of course!
If you think your home is missing two curvaceous ladies, email us at info@deniseatpaws.com.au detailing your home. If the inn is full, please share and spread the word about these gorgeous girls.

Name: Leo
Age: 5 months
Breed: Pug X Poodle
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $600
Cat friendly: Yes
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney

Leo, a 5-month-old Poodle x Pug, is eagerly searching for his forever home. Currently being fostered in Sydney, we are seeking a loving home for him within New South Wales, including Sydney, Canberra, Newcastle, or surrounding areas. Interstate applications will not be considered, as Leo's new home needs to be close by.
Leo is a gentle and affectionate pup with a heart of gold. He adores other dogs and has formed close bonds with the foster dogs in his current home. Ideally, Leo’s new family will have a canine companion for him to play and relax with.
Fully house-trained, Leo thrives with easy access to the outdoors, such as via a doggy door or an open door. At night, he loves curling up with another dog in a cozy bed. If you’re looking for a laundry sleeper, Leo may not be the right fit for your home.
Leo is happiest in a family setting, especially with children aged 8 and above who can keep him entertained with games, walks to the park, and plenty of cuddles. His silky, low-maintenance coat requires minimal grooming—just a trim around his eyes and bottom and the occasional bath.
When it’s time to unwind, Leo is the ultimate cuddle companion. He’s perfectly content to lounge on the couch while you relax, watch TV, or enjoy some quiet time.
# Please Do Not apply for Leo if your family is not completely suitable.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to adopt Leo. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.

Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney

Through no fault of his own Levi has found himself needing a new foster to adopt home. His original foster carers dog has become very ill, and they need to spend lots of quality time with him. We wish them all the best with their very sick dog.
Levi is a 8kg bundle of love. He is fully toilet-trained, sleeps peacefully through the night in his own bed on the bedroom floor, and travels wonderfully in the car. Levi adores snuggling on the lounge and being close to his humans.
This sweet boy would do best in a home with another friendly dog to give him confidence when left alone. While he can be anxious, particularly on walks, he’s improving steadily and may benefit from a little extra training. Despite his shyness, Levi is excellent at cafes and waits patiently while you enjoy your coffee. He gets along well with other dogs but can sometimes be timid.
No children under 8 years of age.
Levi is suited to both long and short walks, making him a versatile companion ready to adapt to your lifestyle.

Heeereee's HUMPHREY! We're looking for a unicorn home for dear Humphrey. He's had a very rough trot, abandoned at a pound in a shocking state with a life-threatening hernia. It was touch and go for quite a while, but suddenly he is feeling so much better, taking joy in sunlight, food, other dogs and snuggles. He's very, very sweet.
What Humphrey needs.
A loving, quiet home to convalescence. In saying that, get him out! Take him on short walks, get him out in the sun, take him to cafes, he's really dog and human social and is a delight in the car.
Another small, friendly dog for company. He ADORES other dogs regardless of size. He happily trit-trotted into the groomers because there were other dogs in there and he was busting to make new friends.
Someone who will keep in touch. Humphrey will need an extensive dental. Under medical advice, we will probably wait another six months, but of course we will pay all bills.
He'll be fine if you work, he has no separation anxiety. We suggest teenage kids, he can't be bothered with youngsters.
Humphrey is a dear little thing, inquisitive, friendly, and social. He is brilliant in the car and is a lovely, gentle companion that needs and deserves to be loved. If you are interested in Humphrey and his story, come across to Denise at Paws Inc, following the Canberra Gang, on FB.
# Please Do Not apply for Humphrey if your family is not completely suitable.

Musk is a 1-year-old Foxie mix, she is an energetic and curious girl with a heart full of love for her humans. She's always ready for belly rubs and thrives on affection. An active family with older kids (10 and up) and another playful, energetic dog would be an ideal match for her lively spirit.
While Musk has a strong personality and can occasionally be assertive, she’s very responsive to commands and is eager to learn, making her a great candidate for further training. She is house-trained and reliably signals when she needs to go outside, though she’s still mastering the art of using a doggie door. With some patience and guidance, she's bound to get the hang of it.
Musk is a devoted house dog who needs regular access to the indoors through a doggie door or a similar setup. She would thrive with an active family that loves taking long walks or engaging her in play and exploration. Her enthusiasm, intelligence, and loving nature make her a delightful addition to any home.

House-Trained: Trouper is fully house-trained, good in the car, crate trained, and excellent on the leash.
Walks: He enjoys street walks but is not suitable for dog parks as he can be reactive to some dogs.
Preferences: Trouper prefers a female household as he sometimes doesn’t get along with certain men. He also does not like cats or pocket pets.
Companionship: Trouper loves human company and would thrive in a home where someone is around more often than not, such as people who work from home or a retired family.
Leisure Time: He enjoys sitting in the backyard, soaking up the sun, or playing with his toys while you garden.

Name: Kookie
Age: 6 years
Breed: Pomerarian mix
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $600
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
If you love lively little ginger dogs, then meet Kookie, a 3.6kg bundle of Pomeranian mix!! This gorgeous little dog is a loving, snuggly little boy who absolutely dotes on his humans and loves life in general. He is extremely affectionate and low maintenance, and when bedtime calls, his great joy is to scramble under the blankets with you at night; daytime cuddles on the couch are another of his favourite things – and you had better be quick or else you will be getting insistent nose nudges if you aren’t.
Kookie would be best with a family where someone is home often as all dogs want and need company and attention. He does have some separation anxiety but as his confidence grows this has diminished markedly. Another small dogs (or dogs) would be good as most dogs prefer having their own kind around. He must have access to outside via a doggie door or similar as he is a young, active dog who loves running around and exploring the garden. He has shown both fear and delight at the attention of children, so if there are children in the household, they must be aware of this, learn how to interact with him and know how to be around small dogs. He does seek out “his” people for cuddles and affection.
He loves his walks, getting happy and excited when the lead comes out. He is somewhat reactive to other dogs while out walking, but since being in foster care has improved massively with expert, kind and consistent training. Kookie did not have much exposure to the outside world before coming into DAP Rescue so ongoing training is a must for his and his new family’s happiness and wellbeing. He is very intelligent, and his foster parent is very impressed by how quickly he learns new behaviours and adapts to new situations.
Kookie is on epilepsy medication for life with the cost being less than $10 per month. His medication is working perfectly, he takes it easily in a bit of cheese at breakfast and dinner and this condition has no effect on his quality of life. Epilepsy does seem to raise its head in Pomeranians. Since his medication has been adapted by a specialist, his very mild symptoms have virtually disappeared.
Kookie is currently residing in Normanhurst and is much loved by his foster parent who will be very sad to see him go but knows that we will find the best home for him. Kookie is currently living with three other little dogs as well as the occasional short-term visitor. He is quite unfazed. He has zero food aggression sharing his eating space with the other dogs.
Kookie is truly such a delightful little dog who exudes love and happiness. He is a great favourite with his groomer Emma whom he visits regularly to keep his beautiful coat knot free and comfortable. In between grooms, bushing him is so enjoyable and he loves it too.
# Please Do Not apply for Kookie if your family is not completely suitable.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to adopt Kookie. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.

Name: Lulu
Age: 3 years
Breed: Pomeranian x Chihuahua
Sex: Female
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $600
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
Lulu is an absolute sweetheart with a gorgeous little face. She’s all Pomeranian pizzaz and Chihuahua cheekiness with none of the attitude. She settled in and became one of the family instantly. She’s a happy, quiet little soul with a waggy tail and a constant smile. You’d never known she’s had a rough couple of months after losing her leg. Extremely affectionate and the epitome of low maintenance, she loves a cuddle and a belly scratch. She’s been well trained and has perfect manners. Not a single toileting accident and so polite at mealtimes. She loves a treat!
Lulu would be best with a family where someone is home more often than not, she loves company and affection and would be very sad home alone. Another small dog (or dogs) in the home please - Lulu loves to play. She must have access to outside via a doggie door or similar as she is a young, busy dog who loves chasing a ball. She loves to follow her foster family around the house and is very happy in the car joining in with her people and doggy friends.
Despite her missing limb, Lulu loves a short walk and a good sniff. At 5kgs she’s light to carry up/downstairs. She’s off her meds now and apart from an occasional bit of phantom limb licking looks to have healed completely after the amputation and doesn’t seem to be in any pain. Once her beautiful red fur grows back in, she’ll be just as beautiful outside as she is inside. She happily hops up and down the doggy stairs to the bed and chooses to jump on and off the sofa by herself.
Lulu is currently in Neutral Bay and is much loved by her foster family who will miss her dearly but know she’s a little social butterfly who will steal her new family’s hearts immediately. She appears to have been well loved and cared for until her accident and doesn’t show any signs of abuse.
Lulu is currently living with two children and three other little dogs as well as short-term visitors. She’s curious and keen to get in the mix, often initiating play. She’d be best with gentle children who will respect her space and occasional lack of balance when she’s excited.
# Please Do Not apply for Lulu if your family is not completely suitable.

River is an 11-month-old male mixed breed who has captured the hearts of everyone in a Sydney Pound. This gentle giant is a staff favorite, and it's easy to see why—they’re all cheering for River to find his forever family.
Despite his size, River is incredibly gentle and well-mannered. He's non-reactive with other dogs, and in his past life, he lived harmoniously with canine companions. Whenever someone comes by to feed or clean his run, River's tail wags with joy, but his eyes reflect sadness when he's left alone.
River is a loving and happy dog, great on a lead, and has impeccable manners with everyone he meets. He's truly a staff favorite, and we can’t wait to see him thrive in a home that will treat him like family.
River will need a home with dedicated owners who can provide daily walks and socialization with other dogs. We hope to see him in a loving home where he is an integral part of the family. River is desexed, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
# Please Do Not apply for River if your family is not completely suitable.

Meet Reggie, our spirited 4-year-old Terrier mix. Rescued from the pound in dire condition, Reggie has undergone a remarkable transformation. After a thorough clean-up and essential surgeries, including fixing his cherry eye, dental care, desexing, and other necessary procedures for neglected rescue dogs, Reggie is looking spick-and-span now!
Reggie's foster carer, Alison, describes him as a very happy little boy who loves to sniff around and play chase with his doggie friend and DAP alumni, Tippie. He is house-trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and absolutely adores his meals. Reggie is also a trooper when it comes to taking his antibiotics after his major dental surgery.
Reggie loves following Alison around the house, jumping up on the couch to snuggle with her when it's time to watch TV. He will need a doggie companion in his forever home—preferably a dog similar in size, as Reggie is quite strong. While he doesn’t like being left alone for long periods, he’s perfectly content when accompanied by Tippie, his foster sibling.
In the car, Reggie is fantastic, sitting up and watching the world go by. He would thrive in a home where he can enjoy daily walks around the neighborhood. As a house dog, he must always have access inside and outside, especially with the warming weather.
Reggie would be perfect for a home with children over 10, an active retired couple, or a single person or couple who works from home some days. Remember, Reggie must go to a home with another dog. His coat does require regular grooming—a weekly brush to keep the knots at bay will ensure he stays handsome and comfortable.

Celine was rescued from Campbeltown Pound in Sydney some time ago. She came into the pound with her daughter Gracie – both dogs were in horrific condition, and it was obvious to anyone that they had been used for breeding and looked to have had many, many litters! Both Gracie and Celine have required various surgeries and medication to bring them back to good health and are now enjoying a good life with their foster carers.
Celine is a very sweet dog, she has a beautiful personality with her humans, is very obedient and loves the dog she is living with. She goes out on walks around the neighbourhood and has been to the beach a few times and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We believe that the best home for Celine will be as an only dog, she is a bit of a couch potato these days and does enjoy laying in her bed in the company of her human or toddling around the garden enjoying the cool breeze blowing in her face.
Celine is very much a house dog and must always have access inside, she does love children so a home with kids would also be nice for her. She is on the quieter side so a home with a retired couple would also be a nice option for her.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to adopt Celine. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into foster care or a new home.

“As you can see from my profile picture, I am a very good-looking boy, I’m just a baby at 14 months old so am still learning things, but my foster Mum says I am smart and catch on quickly.
I love my food, dry food, and meatballs, with two small meals per day. I love treats too so if you need to if you need to teach me anything = Show me the treats."
"I am amazing on lead and will trot next to my foster sister. I also enjoy a good run around the oval.
I love my enclosed backyard and chase little lizards which keeps me occupied for hours (I don’t catch any) I’m inquisitive, so make sure there’s nowhere for me to escape!"
"My perfect home will be with an ACTIVE FEMALE who will walk me at least once a day because I only have short legs.
My foster Mum says I have a beautiful temperament and I’m always calm and relaxed when I am with her. I do however get a little nervous AROUND MEN and BOYS SCARE ME so I bark at them and try to chase them away so I will do best in an ALL-FEMALE HOME. (This doesn’t mean any grandkids-supervised visits I’ll be fine. I am not snappy, just scared.)"
"Whilst I enjoy laying outside in the sun, I would not like to sleep outside. I am a very clean little boy and love sleeping snuggled up on my foster Mums bed. She puts the fleece blanket over me, and I stay there all night."
"CAR TRIPS – I love these too. My foster Mum bought me a booster seat and its great because I can look out the window. I am a fantastic camper too."
"My foster Mum has shown me many new things and I’ve taken it all in my stride because I trust her, and she makes me feel safe. Once I learn to trust my new (Forever) Mum, I’ll be the same.
I would prefer no stairs; I climb the cat tree and the dining room table!"
Another dog in my home will be best for me.
A family who doesn’t go out to work for hours on end and leave me and my doggie friend all alone for a long time."

introducing Sully our male Beagle DOB 11.5.22.
Before Sully came into care with DAP, he had been living with a family who had 2 very young children, they had “purchased” a male (Sully) and a female Beagle but found it very difficult to care for the dogs, hold down a job and look after 2 kids. Sully and his partner dog were relegated to the back yard and did not come inside the house, not a great life for Beagles who like to get out and about sniffing and walking. His life changed completely when Sully went into foster care with a family who had a couple of older boys, they allowed him inside, took him to the dog park with their dogs and his life became better.
He did find the changes all a bit over whelming and needed time to adjust to his new life in foster care. His foster carer has another larger Beagle and a Cavalier but thinks that one calm dog in his new home will suit him best or a home with a family who are dog savvy and will see to it that he gets all he requires as an only dog.
Sully has mastered toilet training and will now wee on command; he was not toilet trained when he came into care. He walks on a lead in his own special way but in a busy environment he does need to wear an anti-pull harness, on quiet paths he is fine on a collar and lead. Sully enjoys walks in grassy areas where he can walk, run, and have a good sniff without too much outside interference. Sully is not suited to a lifestyle where his new pawrents like to go to cafes or bus stops to pick up children, those places are too scary for him. He likes to catch treats mid-air and play fetch. He can sit, he knows leave it and does like to have a chew on things that are tasty, so watch your socks as he will steal them while you’re putting them on.
Sully’s foster carers have been very patient with him and know exactly what he needs in a new home. His carers say he is a charming, mischievous delight and a bundle of joy, both day and night. When he is sleeping you must call his name as he may startle, the same applies when you approach him from behind. Something has happened that has caused him real fear. Sully loves cuddles when things are nice and calm and is a very well-behaved Beagle when out driving in the car, just laying down enjoying the ride.
A home without children will be best for Sully, and more training is needed for him to gain confidence when out and about. We would like a Beagle loving family to adopt Sully and show him how good life can be. Only apply for Sully if you can give him the home he needs.
# Please Do Not apply for Sully if your family is not completely suitable.
* Please remember to include as much information as possible when applying to adopt Sully. Home checks are done for all our dogs going into a new home.

Meet Loki (Lochland), a 9- year -old, 4.7kg little terrier/Chihuahua x
Loki is an amazing little boy who is thriving on routine, affection, and attention.
He’s a happy cuddly boy, always wagging his tail and wanting pats and attention. If his foster carer is sitting on the chair watching TV, he HAS to sit next to him (regardless of how much space there is lol), and at night will sleep all night next to/on him. He’s 100% his shadow. He has been left alone for a few hours at times with another dog, and after a short time barking (witnessed on camera) he’s self soothed and relaxed.
Over the last few days he’s really got into his toys, and will carry them back to his bed where he loves to sleep in during the day. He’s coming along well with toilet training, and with a routine of walks there are very few wee accidents inside now. He walks well on a leash provided it’s in the direction he wants to go. It’s obvious that his confidence is growing a little more with each walk and outing. Thankfully he’s light to carry when he decides he's had enough.
When he’s on the leash he has the typical chihuahua reaction to any big dogs but responds to reassurance/distraction, his foster carer doesn't think it’s fear thing, rather a typical chihuahua thing.
When he came into care, he was very reactive to people, men in particular, but this has got A LOT better. People can now walk past and he doesn’t react. He likes to approach people on his own terms, or if the other dog is being patted, he’ll happily go for pats. This has been achieved by a combination of lots of reassurance/ignoring his behaviour (and him) and managing the interaction closely. This will need to be monitored and nurtured.
Loki is great in the car, a good eater and confident cafe dog.
What Loki needs;
Breed experience is preferred but not essential. Chihuahuas are funny little things with a heap of personality, if you know you know.
People home more often than not, he will not be happy being left alone for long periods of time. He currently sleeps in his foster carers bed, that's his preferred spot.
Someone committed to ongoing gentle, force free training.
Let him be part of your life, take him to cafes, do the coast walk, show him how wonderful life can be.
No kids, he doesn't want any of his own.
# Please Do Not apply for Loki if your family is not completely suitable.

Milton is a lively Maltese x Shih Tzu who is around 15months of age, he has a contagious zest for life, as seen on his adorable face. His mission in life is to ensure every couch is sat on and every hand is occupied patting his head. Snuggles and cuddles are the name of the game for him.
He’s a high-energy young dog who has proven to be a quick learner. Since moving to his foster home, he has gained confidence due to the kindness shown to him, something we believe he didn't have in his previous home. Milton has learned crucial recall and reliable toilet training. He can be a little scared by other dogs while on a lead (although improving!), but off-lead in appropriate spaces, he’s confident, well-mannered, and plays very well with other dogs.
Milton can be nervous around loud noises and rapid movements, but he’s proven to be a brave boy and continues to conquer his fears. He thrives in a loving environment where he can receive plenty of attention and affection. Milton enjoys playing with toys and loves to be involved in whatever his humans are doing. He’s a loyal companion who will bring joy and laughter to his new family. Milton loves going out on walks with his foster dog companion and enjoys being an inside dog with access via a doggie door 24/7. We would like to see Milton with a doggie friend in his new home, one who will play with him and keep him company if his pawrents go out to work during the day.

Name: Kenny
Age: 9 years
Breed: Chihuahua mix
Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $495
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
Kenny is a delightful boy, the size of a small foxie weighing just over 7 kg. He was born on May 22, 2015, making him 9 years old. His microchip breed description is a short-haired Chihuahua, it is evident that he is a mix, but he does have has the coloring of a brown Chihuahua.
Kenny is a dream to care for most of the time. He eats well, sleeps well in his own bed or on his human's bed, loves car trips and walks, and is good on the lead. He adores toys and treats but mostly loves his humans; cuddles and tummy rubs are his favorite things. When it comes to other dogs, he can take them or leave them, so he is best suited to elderly dogs who don't annoy him. He keeps to himself at the dog park and has fairly good recall. He knows a few commands like sit and wait.
He is an inside dog with access to the outdoors and is fully house-trained. Although he hasn’t used a dog door yet, I’m sure he’d learn quickly. He has a low-maintenance coat that requires occasional baths and brushing. He is fit and healthy. He prefers dry foods and loaf-style meat to wet food. He likes BBQ chicken and sardines.
Like some rescue dogs, he has a quirk or two. The main one is that every day he takes himself into the human's bed and scoots under the doona, where he will hide out for hours if you let him!
Kenny would suit a family with older, dog-savvy kids, an active couple with no children, or active retirees. He is okay to be left alone for prolonged periods as long as he has some toys and treats to occupy him. He would prefer to be an only dog, but older, placid doggie companions would be okay. Kenny has not yet met any cats.
# Please Do Not apply for Kenny if your family is not completely suitable.

Sex: Female

Adoption fee: $600
Cat friendly: NA

Lovely Ayla came to DAP after spending four months at the Hunter RSPCA. Despite the RSPCA's efforts to rehome her during that period, unfortunately, no one was interested. However, she was very loved by the shelter staff and became a favorite. Ayla is 12 months old
After one week in care with Jennifer, Ayla has shown herself to be a very sweet and happy dog, although she is quite timid by nature. She loves cuddles and being with her human, always sitting underneath her foster carer's chair while she works.
Ayla is microchipped as a Dachshund x Staffy, but many breeds have brindle coats. She has a brindle solid body, a pointy nose, and a long body. When excited, she does zoomies around the backyard, showcasing her strength and muscles. Weighing around 13 kgs, Ayla is now fully grown.
Ayla enjoys her walks with her foster sister, Willow, a Groodle, who she looks to for confidence. She has been happy to meet and greet other dogs we pass on our walks with nothing but timid sniffs. She walks well without pulling on the lead.
Being just a puppy at 12 months of age, a good training program will be to Ayla's advantage. She is learning to sit for food and sit at corners before crossing the road. Jennifer is also teaching her not to jump up.
Ayla sleeps through the night and uses the doggy door to come and go. She is almost fully house-trained.
The best home for Ayla will be with a family who will invest time in taking her to training and socializing her. Ayla will suit a family with dog-savvy children, a single person, a couple, or a retired couple. Dogs like Ayla are faithful companions and love their families unconditionally.
Socialization is an important part of a dog's life. We would love to see her permanent family take Ayla everywhere with them

Name: Pixel
Age: 15 months
Breed: Maltese mix
Sex: Female
Size: Tiny
Adoption fee: $600
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney
R251 000 066
Meet Pixel, an adorable 15-week-old Maltese mix puppy who is about to start on the journey to her forever home. Despite a challenging start, her story is now one of hope and resilience. At 8 weeks of age, Pixel was purchased from a backyard breeder by an elderly woman in her 80s. Unfortunately, the woman suffered a heart attack shortly after her purchase which saw Pixel confined to a small pen for the next 7 weeks with no opportunity for walks, no time was spent playing with her new owner, no cuddles and no socialisation.
Pixel was in the midst of the most critical period of her young life, the first 16 weeks of a puppy's life is when they learn how to play, love and be loved, toilet trained, socialised with humans and other dogs etc. Instead, Pixel got zero attention after being taken from her Mum and siblings, such heartbreaking stuff for such a sweet little puppy.
Pixel thrives in a quiet, nurturing environment and is best suited to a home with adults or a couple. She is incredibly timid around new people and will require a patient family committed to helping her build confidence. Due to her shy nature, she is not ideal for busy outings such as school pick-ups, sporting events, or trips to cafés. While Pixel does not respond aggressively when frightened, she will cower, tremble, or occasionally have accidents when overwhelmed.
Pixel adores the company of other dogs and finds great comfort in their presence. She loves playing and cuddling with her foster sibling, often relying on them for reassurance and a sense of security. Having another friendly dog in the household is a must for Pixel, as they help her feel more confident and at ease.
She enjoys bursts of playful energy in the evenings and delights in chasing and jumping with her foster sibling. At night, Pixel sleeps peacefully in a crate but would love nothing more than to sleep next to her doggy companion.
Pixel recently experienced her first walk and is making steady progress. She feels more comfortable in quiet parks, as passing people or loud noises in residential areas still frighten her. She walks best when accompanied by her foster sibling and is gaining confidence with each outing.
Since joining her foster home, the primary focus has been on earning Pixel's trust. While toilet training and basic commands are in progress, Pixel's new family will need to continue this training journey. She is sensitive to loud noises and door knocks, often retreating to a safe space when startled.
What Pixel Needs:
-A quiet and patient household willing to support her emotional development.
-A friendly and understanding dog as a companion.
-Indoor access at all times (she does not shed).
-A family committed to continuing her basic training and socialisation.
Pixel is a gentle soul with a lot of love to give, especially with the right guidance and care. With time and patience, this special puppy will surely flourish into a confident and happy dog.
# Please Do Not apply for Pixel if your family is not completely suitable.

Miro is a 6-year-old Paintbox Whippet searching for a new home. He is a very good boy who loves to run along the beach, sniffing the air with a big smile on his face! With his sweet nature, he makes a wonderful companion, but beware—Miro does not like the postman. If you're out walking and Miro spots the postman, be prepared.
Miro walks very well on a lead and enjoys the company of the other dogs in his foster home, so he must be rehomed with another dog for companionship. This stunning dog, with his Blue, Fawn, and Brindle coat, loves a good run in an enclosed park for 10-15 minutes catching a ball. After that, he’s done and ready to go home for a nap on the couch.
As a house dog, Miro must always have access to his new digs via a doggie door or an open door. Keeping Miro warm in winter is important; Whippets are thin-skinned and lack much body fat, making them more susceptible to the cold than other breeds. Whippets need a coat in cooler months, ideally one that fits their curved back. Miro would thrive in a home with a family with kids aged 8+, a retired couple, or a single person.
Most Whippets over 2 years old can be left alone for up to 6 hours daily, provided they get about an hour of cumulative exercise each day. They are hounds and tend to be lazy after 10 minutes of fast running or a 20-minute sniff walk. Generally, Whippets are quiet and reserved dogs, although they may bark if excited, unhappy, bored, or playing. Regardless of your activity level, Whippets will adapt to your lifestyle. They learn routines and adapt quickly and easily.
# Please Do Not apply for Miro if your family is not completely suitable.

Meet Aurelia a 9-year-old female Spoodle, aprox 15kgs from the same household as Armarni.
Aurelia is gorgeous, she is fit as a fiddle and appears to be in the peak of her life. She loves exercise and responds beautifully to training. She is keen for a job; she likes being helpful. She'd be a joy to continue to train for fun, both of you would enjoy it. Aurelia is a stunning colour, difficult to describe, but a wonderful, unexpected combination of silver and beige. She's very striking.
Aurelia has come from a loving home, and she is a delight. Loves kids and other dogs, great on the leash, house trained and lovely in the car. She is a lovely dog.
What Aurelia needs:

Sleeping Arrangements: Trouper is happy to sleep on a dog bed next to you all night.

Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney

Bowie has a heart full of love. He adores being with his humans and soaking up all the attention. Massages and lounging on the couch with his carers are his idea of heaven. He loves basking in the sun on the balcony until the rays disappear.

What Loki needs;

Sex: Male
Size: Small
Adoption fee: $495

Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney

Name: Ayla
Age: 1 year
Breed: Dachshund X Staffy
Sex: Female
Size: Medium
Adoption fee: $600
Cat friendly: NA
Another dog in the home: Yes
Interstate adoption: NSW and ACT Only
Location: Sydney

FOSTER TO ADOPT HOME NEEDED FOR BIRDIE OUR BEAUTIFUL BLACK GREYHOUND.
Introducing Greyhound Birdie. She is approximately 4 years old and was found wandering down on the south coast, she had no identification on her very large collar!! and was not microchipped. Fortunately for Birdie a Vet clinic has been looking after her during her impound time. No one has come forward for Birdie and as her time is up we agreed to take her on and find her a lovely new home. Birdie has showed herself to be a very sweet dog, she has been cat tested and just sniffed and then ignored.

Name: Miro
Age: 6 years
