Forrest

Name: Forrest

Sex: Male

Breed: Miniature Fox Terrier

Age: 4 Years

Size: Small

Hello, my name is Forrest (but I don’t run).

I’m a little 4 y.o. mini foxy, whose main purpose in life is to be on your lap, preferably licking you.

I’m quite timid, but very sweet, toilet-trained and did I mention I love cuddles? I can’t remember what happened to me before I got into foster care, but I don’t think it was very nice. Not to worry though, the nice people at Denise at Paws have been taking great care of me!

I have recently discovered what it is like to go for daily walks and I love them! My foster mum told me I’m a dream on the leash and sometimes she even forgets I’m on the other end of it because I’m so well behaved and always heel. Walking on a leash is a totally new experience for me, I can get scared sometimes and let out a hell of a sound if there’s any pressure on my lead.

My foster mum and sisters are really nice to me, but I feel it’s time for me to find a family to call my own. Ideally, I would like to go to an experienced and patient owner who will continue to teach me that the world is a beautiful place and to help me blossom in the cool little guy I can be. I would like a brother/sister to show me the ropes in what feels like a new world to me, but I can be an only child too. I like gentle, older kids who will cuddle me and want me to sleep and study with them on their lap.

If you think you could be the right future mum/dad for me, please get in touch, I can’t wait to meet you! Lots of licks,

Forrest is a sensitive boy and it’s imperative he goes to a family that will give him the time he needs to adjust to his new life. A family that will use positive reinforcement to continue his training is very important, he’s far more receptive to kindness and being shown what to do. Forrest must have access inside at his leisure, he has a short, shedding coat that is low maintenance and only requires the occasional brush and bath.

Forrest comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $495. Forrest is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Forrest please email Denise

Snickers

Name: Snickers

Sex: Female

Breed: Labrador Mix

Age: 5 Years

Size: Medium

Snickers is a very pretty Labrador mix. When Snickers came to us, she had a broken front leg that required surgery. Now, she has well and truly recovered from surgery to correct the break and is out and about walking with her foster family and their dogs. Snickers did initially suffer with separation anxiety and she was unsure of the dogs in her foster home. However, after a lot of hard work, time & effort, she has improved and now loves to mingle with her entire foster family.

We feel that the best home for Snickers will be with a family who are home more often than not, or can take her to their place of work as she does like to be with her humans. Another dog in the family would be a good thing providing it is not too bouncy and in her face. A nice calm dog would be best for Snickers. She currently lives with another female Labrador who is her bestie.

Snickers has a coat that will require regular brushing to keep the shedding to a minimum. She is a house dog and requires access via a doggie door or similar. She loves her daily walks, and now that Snickers’s leg has completely healed, she’s ready to run, swim and enjoy her life like any other dog.

Snickers comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $495. Snickers is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Snickers please email Denise

Jeepers

Name: Jeepers

Sex: Male

Breed: Chihuahua Mix

Age: 4 Years

Size: Small

Jeepers is a cute little dude who originated from Hawkesbury Pound. He is only small and has been put on a very strict diet by his foster carer. He has managed to lose some weight and now has more energy to chase his toys and to jump up on the couch. Jeepers’s foster carer is aware that he is a little shy so she is doing lots of confidence building with him. Although not quite ready to go out walking on his lead and harness, Jeepers will get there with time and patience. Jeepers’s past life was pretty miserable, himself and another small dog being back yard dogs only having each other, we initially thought they would be best kept together but that proved to be a disaster so we separated them and everyone is much happier.

Jeepers would like another small playful female dog in his new home. He loves to play ball and sleep on his carers bed, getting lots of cuddles. He is a house dog and requires access via a doggie door or similar. Jeepers’s coat does shed a little being a short coated dog.

The right home for Jeepers will be with a family who will be patient with him. He doesn’t have a huge amount of confidence so will need time to settle.

Do you have the right home for this bundle of cuteness?

Jeepers comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $495. Jeepers is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Jeepers please email Denise

Bertie Bone-Apart

Name: Bertie Bone-Apart

Sex: Male

Breed: Shih-Tzu x Poodle

Age: 2 Years

Size: Small

Our young Bertie is an absolute sweetheart of a dog. He had a rough and lonely start to life and as a result is looking to make up for it 24/7. He loves meeting dogs and people and once he trusts you he will be your shadow. He doesn’t show any signs of separation anxiety and is the most gentle and loving dog you could hope for.

He’s so eager to please and desperate for affection it will break your heart and we guess from the way he cowers sometimes that he has been treated badly in the past.

Bertie is very wary of men in their 20’s – 30’s. If he sees one he will growl and bark, however he is willing to be won over. Any family that takes him on will need to be aware of this and tread carefully with family members and visitors to the home.

He learnt his toilet training very quickly and isn’t much of a barker. He has good recall once he is bonded to you. He’s not a fussy eater. He will need to be fed separately and watched to make sure after he’s finished eating he doesn’t come over to see what everyone else is having – but that is more hunger and curiosity rather than any kind of food aggression.

Bertie definitely needs a home with at least one other dog. Having just learnt how to play from his foster brother he is keen to make up for lost time! Any dog Bertie lives with will need to be very calm and patient as whenever pats or food are being given out Bertie will rush up and insert himself ASAP without regard for consequences.

Bertie loves kids and the cuddles and attention they give him. His new family must want and love a little dog who will rush to them for affection wherever they are and whatever they are doing, who will always want to sit right next to them on the couch and snuggle (his foster mum calls him the stealth snuggler!).Bertie is happy in his little bed on the floor next to the human bed but as soon as you are awake he’s ready to go!

Bertie deserves a home where everyone will give him the love and attention he has missed out on and be aware that using a raised voice at him will bring on a strong fear reaction above and beyond what you would expect. He needs affection, patience, firm but kind correction and you will be rewarded with the love of a little boy who should be living his best life from now on.

Bertie comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $495. Bertie is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Bertie please email Denise

Danny Boy

Name: Danny Boy

Sex: Male

Breed: Maltese x

Age: 13

Size: Small

Small but mighty!

Danny Boy is a tiny dog with a big personality, having come from a very neglectful past, Danny is now on the road to recovery and has something to prove!

Danny is cute as a button, he loves a good little snuggle on the couch and loves to get out for a daily stroll around the neighbourhood. He walks a bit funky but after vet investigation this does not cause him pain and is something he has probably had since birth. When Danny first arrived his eyes were is a shocking state, they had hair growing into the corneas and he had chronic dry eye which was left untreated but they have been improving with treatment, he will however require life long eye drops to ensure that he remains comfortable.

Danny was previously left outside so after 13 years, his housetraining is progressing a little slowly but with patience and consistency we think he will get there. He has a high maintenance coat that will require regular grooming to keep him looking fresh and fab!

Danny’s ideal home would be as a single dog where he gets a bucket load of love and attention, he would also be okay with a chilled out female dog. He is great with dogs out and about, usually having a sniff and moving on with his day but can sometimes develop a bit of an attitude towards other dogs he shares a home with.

Danny must have access inside, he is probably not suitable to a family with young children but teens are okay.

Danny comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $495. Danny is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Danny please email Denise

Bacci

Name: Bacci

Sex: Male

Breed: Spaniel Mix

Age: 9 Years

Size: Small

Blonde locks and big soulful eyes. Could Bacci be your boy?

The gorgeous Bacci is a more than just his spaniel good looks, this boy is sweet and loving and will make an excellent new companion to an understanding and kind family.

Bacci moves all the way from South Africa with his family only to find that his new home and their resident dog were not a match made in heaven. Left with a heartbreaking decision Bacci’s family decided it was best that Bacci was rehomed in an environment more suited to his needs.

After a very uncertain and stressful period in his life, culminating in having to find a new home away from the family who loved him, Bacci is now settling back into normality and getting back to just being a carefree dog whilst in foster care.

Bacci is perfectly housetrained, loves a good couch session and loves an outing, the joy of life has him going in every which direction, usually not straight so his new family will either have to love going on quite the ‘adventure’ or commit to working on some leash skills which should be a breeze with gentle guidance and a pocketful of treats.

Bacci did have a few bad experiences with other dogs in his previous home so as a result can be a little dog selective, currently in care with two female dogs we feel he is best suited to a home as an only dog or with a laid back female dog who is quietly confident.

Due to the many recent changes is Bacci’s life, his new family will need to be committed to helping Bacci’s transition into his final forever home. He would benefit from having a dog savvy owner, home more often than not, willing to go on daily walks and perhaps enrolling in a positive based doggy school where he can pick up some new skills.

Bacci is not suited to a home with young children, children in the double digits are okay and he is not suited to a home with cats or pocket pets. He must have access inside at all times, Bacci is no backyard pooch and has a coat that sheds and requires regular grooming to keep him looking sensational.

Bacci comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $495. Bacci is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Bacci please email Denise

Sailor

Name: Sailor

Sex: Male

Breed: Shih Tzu

Age: 12 Years

Size: Small

Why, hello Sailor!

This stunning little Shih Tzu is a delightful dude with a sweet disposition. He is calm, kind and loves to just potter around soaking up the sun or napping in front of the aircon.

Sailor has recently had cataract surgery, this surgery will help him regain some of his vision. The surgery has been quite successful and the specialist ophthalmologists are happy with his progress.

Due to his surgery, Sailor requires ongoing twice daily eye drops, this will likely be for the rest of his life as will semi regular checkups with a ophthalmologist, so his new family will need to be prepared for this and the associated costs.

Sailor may need a little extra care but he is totally worth it, he is a world class snuggler and his easy going nature has found him fit right in in foster care, alongside two fur foster siblings.

Sailor’s ideal home will be with someone home more often than not who is prepared for his ongoing eye care. Ideally his new family will be in Sydney so his new family can continue to see the specialists that performed his eye surgery when necessary.

Sailor must have access inside at all times, he would happily share his new home with another small, calm dog or two and requires regular grooming to ensure he looks fab and keeps comfortable.

Sailor comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $495. Sailor is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Sailor please email Denise
