Pirate Peg

Without Foster carers, Denise at Paws would not exist. Our foster carers are the backbone of our organisation. We need foster carers to open their hearts and homes to dogs in need while they are waiting for their forever home.

Before jumping into the wonderfully rewarding world of foster caring, to help you decide if fostering for Denise at Paws is something you would like to do, we ask that you take some time to consider the following points.

To ensure the wellbeing of our dogs we would like you to:

  • Have a safe, secure and fully fenced yard
  • Be prepared to provide your foster dog with ongoing socialisation & behaviour training. (We do have access to a wonderful trainer who is only an email or phone call away)
  • Provide regular grooming for your foster dog. If you are unable to do this, we would arrange to have your foster dog groomed.
  • ¬†Walk your foster dog regularly.
Muppet & Hugo

While you are fostering one of our dogs, Denise at Paws will:

  • Provide phone support to all of our foster carers. If your foster dog becomes lost, sick or is injured in any way, we are only a phone call away.
  • Provide Advocate monthly to protect our dogs against fleas, worms and heartworm if you are unable to supply it yourself.
  • Provide you with a Scalibur tick collar (replaceable every three months) to protect your foster dog from ticks should you live in a high tick area.

If you feel you can provide these services and wish to become a foster carer for our organisation Denise at Paws, please email Denise HERE or at deniseatpaws@bigpond.com
