BASSET HOUND LABRADOR MIX
AGE: 18 MONTHS
ADOPT A DOG: BASSIE
With big ears and short legs, Bassie is basically an oversized dachshund!
Bassie is full of joy, mischief and will surely make you smile. Her favourite activity is a good old fashioned wrestling match with her doggy pals, closely followed by using her nose to snuffle about like all good hound dogs do!
At around 18kgs, Bassie is very much a medium sized dog, her coat is short and soft and does shed but that can be minimised with regular brushing. Bassie is fairly energetic, she loves to play and could do it all day, she walks well on leash and needs a decent daily walk to meet her physical exercise needs. Puzzle toys, Kongs and training games are also a favourite of Bassie, she is highly food motivated and would love a home with someone who is interested in having fun whilst doing some training. Ideally her new home will have another playful, robust dog in the home, as we mentioned Bassie LOVES to play, so her new doggy pal must have previous wrestling experience!
Bassie is house trained, crate trained, sleeps well through the night and would absolutely love to find that forever home with an active family looking for a fun, cheeky companion that is going to make them laugh and get out and about!
Bassie comes desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed, and on heartworm protection. The adoption fee is $495. Bassie is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Bassie, please email Denise.
AGE: 1 YEAR
SIZE: MEDIUM WHEN FULLY GROWN
ADOPT A DOG - SUNDAE
SUNDAE is an enthusiastic, hilarious tripod dog. She has an undeniable zest for life, loves everyone and everything and is completely fearless. Sundae arrived into our care with a bad limp to her front leg, it was quickly discovered that she had an old fracture that had been left unattended and after vet investigation and discussion with multiple specialists we made the decision to amputate as it was causing her pain and discomfort. After her surgery Sundae woke up running, having three legs is certainly not something that has dampened her spirit. Sundae lives with 5 other dogs both big and small, she gets along well with all of them, including the resident cat. Sundae gets walked daily at the local dog beach where she runs, swims and plays with any dog up for a game. She is energetic, however tires reasonably quickly after her daily outing. Sundae is still very much a puppy, she is learning her manners and will need ongoing training to ensure she keeps out of trouble. Sundae is ideally looking for a home with another playful dog, she is great with children however does have a tendency to jump so older children would be better suited to her. Her new home, ideally would have minimal stairs, although she can get up and down stairs without issues the long term impact on her remaining front leg wouldn’t be the best. Sundae will need a good diet to keep her weight down so to not negatively impact her joints, she has a short shedding coat and only requires the occasional bath to keep her smelling fresh! She is house trained and requires access inside at all times.
Sundae comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested. The adoption fee is $495. Sundae is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Sundae, please email Denise
ADOPT A DOG - HANK
KELPIE STAFFY MIX
Hank needs to find a new home urgently as his owner has had to move into a home unit. His owners are very sad but Hank really does need a back yard to mooch around in and a home unit just doesn’t cut it.
Hank is a very handsome lad with a wonderful nature, he gets along famously with humans of all ages and especially loves children. He is an active dog and will require regular exercise in his new home.
Hank is really good with other large dogs when he is at the dog park and he doesn’t mind playing with dogs who are smaller than him either. When he is on lead Hank may bark at other dogs to get their attention so that he can have a sniff and get to know them. In some dogs this can be typical behaviour if they have not been trained appropriately. Hank is a young dog and with the right owner will do well with some training in that area.
Hank comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, wormed, heartworm tested. The adoption fee is $295.00 Hank is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Hank, please email Denise
CHIHUAHUA POMERANIAN MIX
ADOPT A DOG - WINNIE
Winnie is a gentle, fluffy 3.5kg senior girl who appears to be a long hair Chihuahua cross. Her favourite things include sitting on her bed close to her human and sunbaking outside on her bed in the full sun worshipping her little heart away. She loves to be tucked up under her fostermum’s chin where she will cuddle up and close her eyes blissfully, just happy to be loved.
Whilst we don’t know Winnie’s age, we do know she is a senior and we’re approximating her age as 10 years. Winnie came into rescue quite thin but with a good feeding program has put on weight. She tends to be a bit fussy with what she eats and will need her human to put a little more effort into her meals instead of just opening a can of dog food. Her favourites are cooked rump steak, cooked beef mince and Tuckertime dog food roll. As she doesn’t have many teeth left, she loves her food cut in little pieces for her to swallow.
She also had some eye issues when she arrived and after an operation and TLC from SASH, she’s all better now, however she needs a family committed to giving her eye drops twice a day for the rest of her life to ensure her good eye health continues. Her coat will need regular brushing to keep her beautiful and tangle free.
Winnie loves her humans so much that she would prefer to be an only dog. She does have a tendency to have a minor (toothless) snap at dogs that are too close to her human pack. Having said that, Winnie loves humans whether it be adults or children. She loves being picked up and patted and could put up with it all day. She recently spent a day at the Dog Lovers Show being patted by thousands of people and proved to be completely bombproof with humans big and small.
Winnie negotiates the 5 outdoor steps at her foster home well during the day but needs to be carried up the stairs at night time. Don’t think because she’s a senior that she’s a slow, fragile dog. Winnie loves going to the dog park with her foster carer and exploring all the smells, she also enjoys a trot around the neighbourhood to see what the neighbours are up to.
Winnie is a house dog and must have access at all times, her coat will require regular grooming to keep her looking and feeling gorgeous.
Winnie comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and heartworm prevention, she has also had a dental and eye surgery performed by Dr Mark Bilson an Opthalmologist at the Small Animal Specialist Hospital. The adoption fee is $495. Winnie is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Winnie please email Denise
ADOPT A DOG - NOODLE
Noodle is a lovely little man. Sweet and sensitive, he loves a snuggle on the couch as much as an interesting walk to the park or a play with his mates.
He’s a terrier through and through, probably a foxie-type, with a curly ‘noodley’ tail. A real cutie with one ear up and one ear down, he has a head tilt move that just screams ‘what you talking ‘bout?!’. Whatever his breed, he is good looking boy with lovely soft, neat fur.
While he has been hanging out with his fosterer, he’s been getting along really well with his foster-sister doggies! We’d definitely recommend Noodle goes to a home where he is not the single pup as he will get so much more out of life with a friend.
Noodle will benefit from positive socialisation (spending time with people, and with other dogs outside the home). Noodle needs an experienced owner with a soft approach, and with continued socialisation his confidence will continue to improve and he’ll become the awesome dog he always was meant to be. A home without children will be best for Noodle.
Noodle learned some basic obedience, but would benefit from continued training. He walks well on lead and really enjoys his outings.
Noodle is house trained and sleeps soundly in a crate at night. He has a lovely soft and sleek low maintenance coat that will require an occasional bath and a regular brush to keep him clean and tidy.
Noodle requires access to the house via a doggie door or similar and he must sleep inside.
Noodle comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and heartworm prevention, he has also had a dental. The adoption fee is $495. Noodle is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Noodle please email Denise
ADOPT A DOG - MABEL
ADOPT A DOG - MACK
MALE AND FEMALE
FEMALE – 3
MALE – 1
Mack is 1 year old and Mabel is 3 years old, they are an extremely bonded pair of BEAGLES and we are committed to finding a HOME for them TOGETHER.
Mabel and Mack have very sweet natures and must go to a home where the owners are not away from home for long periods of time. Beagles are mischievous when they are left to their own devices so this point is very important.
Mack and Mabel did not have any training in their previous home, they were living with elderly owners who did not walk them or pay them much attention at all. Since being in foster care with our very committed foster carer Trace and her family they have learnt some basic commands, their names have been changed and they are getting used to living with a family who want only the best for them in the long term.
Since going into foster care with our organisation Mack and Mabel have enjoyed going on long walks sniffing and sniffing and enjoying all the smells the great outdoors has to offer. As part of their daily routine it is important that they are walked and or taken to the local off leash park to run and play. Mack and Mabel are toilet trained and can use a doggy door, they require access to part of the house at all times when they go to their new forever home. They are crated at night and sleep curled up together quietly until let out in the morning.
Mack and Mabel play with each other constantly, Mack also enjoys chasing the ball and playing with their rope toys. It is very important that Mack and Mabel go to a home with people who KNOW and UNDERSTAND the BEAGLE BREED. Beagles are busy dogs and need to be stimulated, walked, trained, loved and understood.
This gorgeous pair have low maintence coats and require a brush and a bath to keep them comfortable. They are house dogs and must have access via a doggie door to part of the home when their owners are out.
Mabel and Mack come desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, have had a dental and they are on flea, worm and heartworm prevention. The adoption fee for both dogs is $900. Mabel and Mack are not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Mabel and Mack please email Denise
SHIH TZU – MALTESE MIX
ADOPT A DOG - COMET
It is no secret that we love a senior citizen and Comet is no exception. This 12 year old gentleman is looking for a forever home. He is a total superstar who gets along swimmingly with his furry foster sisters therefore Comet would love a home with another small doggy companion. Comet loves a good nap and a cuddle and we think he deserves a home with a family who will give him lots of love.
Being a senior Comet does have a touch of arthritis, we have given him one course of cartrophen injections to help his old joints to function much more comfortably. Whoever adopts Comet would be advised to visit their vet to repeat these injections a few times a year, they are not at all expensive. So if you are looking for an older, relaxed, gorgeous little addition to your family please send us an email.
Comet has a coat that will grow and require regular grooming to keep him looking spit spot…he is a house dog requiring access to indoors 24/7.
Comet comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, he has had a course of arthritis injections and a dental. Sam is also on flea, worm and heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $495. Comet is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Comet please email Denise
ADOPT A DOG - SAM
Sam is a very pretty boy who loves his adult human foster carers more than anything else in the world. Sam is young at 2 years of age and we feel times have been a little tough for him in his past life, he is very wary of children and can be reactive to them so a home without access to children will be best. Sam is also a bit of a chicken when it comes to being examined by the vet.
Sam is beginning to play with his furry foster family and doesn’t mind a ride in the trolley around the local Bunnings Hardware store…..he gets lots of admiring glances but children are told to just give him a smile and a wave or they may frighten him with faces that are too close to his.
Sam is able use the doggie door and will sit on command for his treats. He must go to a home with dog savvy people who understand the personality and character traits of a little dog who has not been in an ideal home until he came into foster care with Sushma and her lovely family. He really enjoys going out for a walk and is very good on lead.
Sam has a coat that will grow and require ongoing grooming, he is a house dog and would like access inside and out 24 hours a day via a doggie door or similar.
Sam comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and
heartworm prevention, he has also had a dental. The adoption fee is $495. Sam is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Sam please email Denise
AGE: 12 MONTHS
ADOPT A DOG - ALOHA
If you feel ready to have your days enlivened, filled with unconditional love, absolute loyalty and loads of fun then Aloha may be a perfect girl for your family. Aloha is still very young and keen to learn but will require guidance and dedication by her new family.
Aloha is endless fun and has almost certainly energised her foster family, she is an exuberant and playful, fun loving girl. She is a very fast learner but hasn’t yet worked out how to fully control her excitement when she sees her humans, other furkids or an opportunity to have some fun!
Aloha will enjoy her life in a home where there is a garden to play in and a doggie companion to share that playtime with. Aloha is very good with older children and wouldn’t mind sharing her new home with them.
Aloha is a house dog and does require access via a doggie door or similar at all times, her coat is fairly low maintenance requiring a trim and a bath…
Aloha comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and
heartworm prevention. The adoption fee is $495. Aloha is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Aloha please email Denise
ADOPT A DOG - BUBBA LOU
SHIH TZU MALTESE MIX
Poor Bubba Lou found himself in a country pound, he was matted to the skin and in a bad way physically and mentally, we knew that he would need a very kind and gentle family to bring him around and show Bubba that not everyone in the world is mean and unkind as we suspect his previous owners were!
Bubba is responding very well to his foster carer and her boys gentle touch, he is a character with his crooked smile and little teeth that stick out like pegs on a clothesline 🙂 his coat is beginning to grow back and has lovely patches of beige coming through. Bubba is going to be one very handsome boy when he is in full coat again in a month or so.
Bubba would like to live with a special family who may have experience with a rescue dog who has probably been poorly treated in the past. He is going to be best with a family who don’t have young children because he can be fearful and will give a growl if he is afraid. Bubba gets along with the dogs in his foster home. He has not been out walking just yet but in time and as his confidence grows we believe that he will come to enjoy a walk.
Bubba Lou is a house dog and will require access via a doggie door or similar. His coat will grow and require regular clipping and grooming.
Bubba Lou comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and
heartworm prevention and has had a dental. The adoption fee is $495. Bubba Lou is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Bubba Lou please email Denise
ADOPT A DOG - FARROW
UPDATE:- PATHOLOGY HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE LUMPS FOUND IN AND AROUND FARROW’S BLADDER WERE ALL BENIGN.
Farrow came from Blacktown Pound in awful condition, she had a filthy matted coat, some disgusting green teeth as well as other issues that were not revealed until she was under anesthetic for desexing. Farrow had a huge lump that had wrapped itself around her bladder, she also had a lot of small lumps coming off the original lump, she would have been in a lot of pain and very uncomfortable before these were removed. Our vet performed all of the necessary surgery and once recovered Farrow became a very happy and playful dog. She loves laying on the couch with her foster family begging for all of the attention and cuddles that are on offer.
Farrow would love a home with a family/retired couple who will give her all the love and attention that she has obviously missed out on in her previous life. A home where she will be the only dog will not worry her because she does like all of the attention for herself. Farrow would rather live with a family where someone is home more often than not, or could take her to work with them.
Farrow’s coat will grow and require ongoing grooming, being a Poodle she does not shed and is perfect for someone who has allergies. She is a house dog and must have access via a doggie door or similar at all times.
Farrow comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and
heartworm prevention and has had a dental. The adoption fee is $495. Farrow is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Farrow please email Denise

A walk around the block and a cuddle on the couch will make Milly a super happy lady! Milly has a shedding coat that will require the occasional brush and beauty treatment to keep her looking fabulous. She must have access inside at all times and is not suited to a home with cats. Milly is housetrained and a very affectionate, and she is a highly qualified cuddler.
Milly comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and

Harmony is great with all humans both big and small, she loves a cuddle, sleeping on the bed with her foster carer, sniffing around the garden and going out on walks. Harmony has mastered walking on the lead extremely well.
Harmony will be fine to go to a home as an only dog, she loves all the affection and human attention that is available. She is a house dog requiring access via a doggie door or similar. Harmony’s coat will grow and require ongoing grooming to keep her looking and feeling wonderful.

ADOPT A DOG - PUFFIN
SHIH TZU X MALTESE
Puffin was found running on the road with a seriously matted and filthy coat, she was microchipped and her owners were contacted but they failed to come for her.
We were contacted and asked if DAP would take Puffin on and rehome her, the answer was a resounding yes! Puffin is a darling little dog and she deserves to find the best home possible. Puffin has taken to life as an inside dog like a duck to water, she loves nothing better than to curl up in a fluffy blanket on the couch dreaming about her new life and getting lots of cuddles and pats from her foster Mum.
Puffin will suit a myriad of families, she is good with children and adults alike so a home where she will get lots of love and attention will be wonderful. She has not started to play yet but will get more active once she has recovered from her surgery. She doesn’t take any notice of the dogs she is in care with at the moment but as she comes out of her shell we are sure that she would like a little doggie friend for company in her new home.
Puffins coat was clipped off completely while she was under for her desexing surgery, her coat will grow back and require regular grooming to keep it in good condition.
Puffin is a house dog and must have access via a doggie door or similar, she will go outside to toilet providing there is an open door or doggie door. Puffin is a good girl sleeping all night long in her doggie bed.
Puffin comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and
heartworm prevention, she has had dew claw removal and a dental. The adoption fee is $495. Puffin is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Puffin please email Denise
ADOPT A DOG - CAMILLE
If you’d love a tiny family companion, Camille is your girl. While timid and still finding her way Camille is friendly, loves a walk and to sleep snuggled on the bed. She is very quiet and not a barker at all.
Camille gets along famously with her Maltese foster sister who at 13 doesn’t quite meet her “playful” needs but she is happy to have the company. When Camille is bored she explores in the garden, digging in the dirt and just sniffing around. Her ideal family would be mainly at home and she would prefer to have a companion dog to lay beside.
Camille is only 3 kilos and loves her food, she enjoys people coming and going but is more hesitant around young children and loud noises and will run to hide in the wardrobe if feeling threatened. A home without small children will be the best for her.
Camille’s coat is lovely and soft and will require regular grooming, she needs access to a doggy door or similar to explore as she pleases. She has had a few “accidents” but is now toilet trained, mostly sleeping through the night, but letting you know if she needs to go out.
Camille comes desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated and is on flea, worm and
heartworm prevention, and a dental. The adoption fee is $495. Camille is not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Camille please email Denise
FEMALE AND MALE
MALTESE SHIH TZU & TIBETAN SPANIEL
ADOPT A DOG - LUCY & DEZI
ADOPT A DOG LUCY & DEZI
Lucy is a Maltese Shih Tzu mix and Dezi is a Tibetan Spaniel, both dogs came from the same family and will only be rehomed as a pair because they are bonded.
Both dogs are extremely playful, they lay together, play together, eat together, walk together and love each other very much. Lucy is the more active of the pair but it doesn’t take much encouragement for Dezi to join in the game with her. Dezi loves his toys and can be possessive of them, Lucy doesn’t care she is not up for any challenge and just walks away leaving Dezi to play with whatever takes his fancy. Both dogs love going out on a walk together and are quite good on the lead just trotting along enjoying the scenery.
Lucy does have some separation anxiety, her foster carer basically ignores the behaviour and she is improving every day. Both dogs must always have access via a doggie door or similar and are completely house trained with access, they love to have a sniff and wee in the garden but beware if you think you can lock them outside, that is not going to happen because they will not be happy and you will soon know about it.
Lucy and Dezi would love a home where they will get plenty of exercise and socialisation, they need room in the house to play, a lounge to lay on, preferably with the sun shining through the window on their little bodies. Lucy and Dezi are an adorable pair, they love their humans and adore giving licks and cuddles whenever the opportunity arises. Their foster carer thinks they are the ants pants and will be very fussy when the applications come in for their adoption.
Lucy and Dezi DO NOT LIKE CATS, they are very naughty and will chase the family cat so please no cats in their new family. Both dogs have coats that will require regular brushing, bathing and Lucy’s coat will need clipping every couple of months to keep her looking like the little teddy bear that she is. Whoever adopts this pair will need energy and buckets full of love to give them each and every day.
Lucy and Dezi come desexed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, are on flea, worm and heartworm prevention, and have also had a dental. The adoption fee is $900. Lucy and Dezi are not available for adoption outside of NSW (Except ACT). If you would like further information on Lucy and Dezi please email Denise
